A Change of Plans and a New Adventure
In January, we were celebrating the success of our module "The Bane of the Ancients," and we were excitedly preparing for our biggest project to date. We were soliciting drawings from fantastic artists, and we were having great discussions with a leading company in its field. As with any new endeavor, we were learning a ton--about design, international manufacturing, you name it. There were stormclouds on the horizon, but it seemed like we would just end up postponing our launch to account for troubling events overseas....
And then February happened, and March.
All of our lives changed dramatically, and we were lucky. We had food, shelter, and (knocking on wood), our health. But the exciting new project would have to wait as the delays grew indeterminable and we adapted to lives of work-at-home, school-at-home, well, everything at home.
But we are gamers at heart. So even with our big enterprise on hold, we still got together (virtually) to play RPGs. Games bring a new perspective, and they can bring laughter and joy. I wanted to try to bring that gaming perspective to the challenging new situation we all found ourselves in, and at the same time find a way to help get the word out about some of the non-profit agencies working hard to help people. A new adventure module was born, and, if we can garner enough support on Kickstarter, will represent a fun addition to our lineup.
Will it work? Time will tell. It's a new adventure in more ways than one, but it draws inspiration from one of the very first RPG modules, and the art looks amazing--simultaneously both parody and tribute to iconic gaming and fantasy imagery.
Follow along here, on Facebook, and--very soon--on Kickstarter. And take care of yourselves!
